The Feminist Porn Awards

by The Madame

UPDATE: we won! We received a Golden Beaver Award for Canadian Content. Yay!

We’re thrilled to have our first official erotic short film selected for Good For Her’s 8th Annual Feminist Porn Awards. It was amazing fun to produce this film {with lovely Nymph as our starlet} and we’re super excited to have been nominated next to some crazy talented filmmakers.

If you want to see the full length short as well as some other FPA selections, come by the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema this Thursday. Then you can come party with us at Capitol Theatre for the gala award ceremony on Friday. For more info, check out the Good For Her FPA website.

Until then, you can view our teaser trailer to whet your appetite…

A Few Mornings After The Night Before: Girls on Film VIII

by The Madame

Archean, Dainty Knees & Miss S, by The Madame

It took a few days, but we’re finally recovered from our latest all-cameras event.

We hosted 40 photographers at furniture warehouse Metropolis Factory and we had tonnes of fun.

AJ, Archean, Dainty Knees, Maggie May, Miss S & Sid Licious did a magnificent job posing for the cameras, surrounded by industrial chic. TKS HeadRigger JP Robichaud was equally impressive with his mad rope skills.

Massive thanks to Toni Wallachy from Pink Panther Studios and her crew for setting up our lighting stations. Also to Jaime Heinke, Terrence Drake and The Man for helping the day run smoothly. BigUps to Phil & Metropolis Factory for their amazing space and service.

The success of our Girls on Film events has us all excited to prepare for IX and X for the warmer months. We’re hoping to go even bigger and better, so stay tuned to our site, Facebook page, and our newsletter, The Keychain, for further deets.

We’ll be posting the afternoon’s Playlist within the next few days, as well as a Photographer’s Gallery. So if you’ve got shots or links you’d like to share, please send them our way.

See you at Girls on Film IX!

A few mornings after the night before: Les Chevaux

by The Madame

We did it. We’re exhausted and sore and all so very sated.

The Keyhole Sessions took over Twist Gallery to create a human carousel in our rogue Nuit Blanche event, Les Chevaux. A stunning array of models dressed as carousel horses posed for all late-night art revellers, many of whom picked up paper and pencil to record the fête for posterity. Six hours of colourful prancing produced hundreds of drawings, many of which we’ll post to our Gallery section asap.

We’d like to thank a slew of people, for without their help, this spectacle never would have happened. And we’re proud to only associate with peeps who are kind, funny, and all around cool cats:

Nadia Kakridonis & Twist Gallery, our illustrious hosts. We wouldn’t want to hold such an event in any other venue.

Paul Potvin & Location Equipment Supply. From chairs to poles and a bunch of stuff in between, these are the guys to go to when you need equipment services.

Fred Gold & Aboveground Art Supplies. What’s a participatory art event without paper and pencils?

David Shimoni & King Textiles. Our Carousel wouldn’t have looked so magical without their beautiful fabrics.

Jeff Goldberg & Sonic Events. Ensuring our beats were loud & proud.

Carol Mair & Balloon Corporate Events. Proof rubber can be used for other beautiful things, not just wrapped around models.

Toni Wallachy & Pink Panther Studios. We always need extra lighting help, and we love getting it from like-minded peeps.

Mark & Performance Solutions: They saved our asses when we were without a stage.

Ashley Miriam & her crew at Proudest Pony Hair & Co. Our models’ manes were works of art from these very fine stylists.

Our MakeUp Artists: Stella Amore, Bene Pham & Aviva Rosnick. These wonderful women created stunning maquillage for our lovelies.

Our amazing volunteers who helped make the magic: Stu C, Nelson G, Sarah K, David S, Andrea S, Alex H, Handzia F, Danielle C. Holy wow, I never would have been able to pull it off without their amazing assistance.

Our fantastic, talented and beautiful Chevaux:

Betty Quirk
Finch
Maggie May
Mara
Miss S
Poisonne
Skellington
Stella Semiautomatic
Suki Tsunami
Susie Caboose

Kiki LaFleur from Well Rounded Hoops. She was a spinning vision enticing our vistors from the street.

Grand thanks to all our guests throughout the evening. Based on all your lovely compliments, we trust you enjoyed yourselves.

And biggest kisses to my partner in crime, Aaron Barnett, whose support and help are unmatched.

Stay tuned for Photo and Drawing Galleries.

Maybe we’ll do it all again next year. Maybe.

Something wicked this way comes…

by The Madame

It’s that time of the year when Toronto lights up with a night of creative spectacle. From sundown to sunrise, artists across the city will participate in Nuit Blanche, filling galleries, shops, alleyways, parks, streets and any space you can think of with a crazy array of colour, light, music and experience.

The Keyhole Sessions will be doing a rogue event not on the official Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche roster, and we invite you to participate. We’re bringing you Les Chevaux, turning Twist Gallery into a human carousel, where our models will be posing as colourful beasts for your drawing pleasure.

All drawing materials supplied by our awesome peeps at Aboveground Art Supplies, so all you have to bring is your enthusiasm.

Our last such event, Les Oiseaux Enlacés, was off the hook as we entertained over 3000 people at Twist. So you know you’re in for a good time. Queen Street is always a great place to be for both “official” and “unofficial” Nuit Blanche events.

Grab a seat and draw for a few minutes or a few hours. It’s also a great spot to warm up, have a drink and rest along your Nuit Blanche journey.

A free event! Come one, come all. Facebook invite here, so you can spread the word!

Twist Gallery, 1100 Queen Street West
8pm to 2am
