Something Wicked this way comes

by The Madame

It’s that time again.

Time to highlight all the amazing work that has come from TKS artists in the last 2 years. If you were at our first exhibition gala for SneakPeek, you’ll know that it was a deliciously good time. And we’re doing it all over again.

Held at The Gladstone ArtBar, our DirtyWork curated exhibition will display the debaucherous drawings, paintings and photographs that were created from TKS Sessions since July of 2010. We invite all TKS artists to submit their work, and everyone to come check it all out.

July 18th to the 24th.
Our Gala will be held Saturday, the 21st
FRIDAY, the 20th from 7 to 10pm,
with all sorts of delightful treats.

We’ll keep you updated with news as the weeks progress. If you would like to volunteer to help with hanging the show, please contact The Madame and she’ll love you forever.

So save the dates and we’ll see you there!

TKS Flicks: Miss Representation

by The Madame

On December 1st, TKS is proud to present a Toronto screening of Miss Representation, a documentary that studies women’s portrayal in the media, both in front and behind the camera.

“The film Miss Representation exposes how American youth are being sold the concept that women and girls’ value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. It’s time to break that cycle of mistruths.”

A panel discussion and Q&A will follow after the screening. Panelists include Sonya JF Barnett, Madame of The Keyhole Sessions and Co-founder of SlutWalk Toronto; and Stacey May Fowles, co-editor of She’s Shameless: women write about growing up, rocking out and fighting back, former publisher of Shameless Magazine and current writer for The Walrus. Third panelist to be confirmed.

Advance Tickets available at EventBrite.
$10.

A few tickets will be made available at the Box Office, but best chances for seating are via advance tickets.

Facebook Invite here. Please share this event with all in your circles. Bring yourselves, your friends, your partners, your kids {great for teens!}. An important film not to be missed.

Two Mornings After The Night Before: Girls on Film V at SMASH

by The Madame

TKS HeadRigger takes down and hogties Dolores del Fuego

So… we’re thinking that Tuesday night’s Girls on Film V at Smash was a pretty nice way to spend an evening.

Our five lovely models, Dolores del Fuego, Finch, Jinxy Laroue, Poisonne and Sandra Kie were happy to display themselves among the 20th Century antiques while 30 photographers shot thousands of photos. We also made use of JP Robichaud’s mad rope skills, and he was quite happy to oblige.

From park slides to skull-tattooed walls to bar stools and big plastic letters, Smash provided many an interesting spot for our shooters. All to a soundtrack of some pretty sweet beats and the click click click of cameras, GoF V was hella fun.

Thanks to:
Toni Wallachy and her assistants, Adrian, Anson and Timothy who helped set up
Our lovely doorgirl, Mara
Aaron Barnett for support assistance
and Alder & Smash for a great venue

If you’ve got photos to show off, please send some our way so we can add them to our Gallery. We’ll also be posting the night’s Playlist.

Girls on Film IV is tentatively slotted for November.

See you soon!

Trust us, it’s truly a fun night.

don’t forget to fuel our fire

by The Madame

We’re still looking for more fuelers for our rogue Nuit Blanche event in October. Donations from ten bucks equals some pretty sweet rewards. Check it out!

The Final Sunday in March

by The Madame

For those who don’t know, music plays a vital role at The Keyhole Sessions. A custom playlist is lovingly created for every TKS event as we understand that musical accompaniment is extremely helpful in getting the creative {and other} juices flowing.

So it’s only fitting that we conclude our Sex+ Film Festival with Sex+MUSIC. 9 Songs takes us on the musical and sexual journey of an American girl and British boy who travel between London concert hall and bedroom and back again. Director Michael Winterbottom captures real concert footage and raw sex in simple, yet compelling verité.

As an added bonus, we close the evening with one of the sexiest music videos by Bristol powerhouse Massive Attack, in a doc-style ode to The Devil in Miss Jones.

So come say so long to our Sex+ Festival with cupcakes from OMG Baked Goodness, the chance to win a gift certificate from local music shop SoundScapes, and an aphrodisiac of the cinematic kind.
