The Morning After the Night Before: Pandora La Glamme & Dolores del Fuego 29|29|09

by The Madame

detailIt’s always a nice way to spend a night, drawing lovely models with sensuous curves, decorated by rope. Last night was no exception.

Pandora La Glamme and Dolores del Fuego did not disappoint, starting the night in some pinup/greaser duets, and rounding out the evening to include rope tied to heels, chairs, and various body parts, courtesy of JP Robichaud.

MTV Live’s Paul the Intern certainly missed out.

Photo gallery, playlist and drawings to appear in following posts. Don’t forget to send us your drawings!

Have a great Wednesday and see you for our grand spectacle on Saturday, the night of Nuit Blanche: Girls.Grease.Rope.

ps. We really are working hard to figure out our temporary studio arrangement. We know the lower studio is less than ideal, and we promise this won’t be forever. Bear with us!

MTV Live is scared of The Keyhole Sessions

by The Madame

So months after MTV Live initially approached The Keyhole Sessions requesting to participate on our stage, after multiple negotiations, assurances, and rescheduling on our part to accommodate their shoot, they have now, at the 11th hour, decided not to be a part of tonight’s Session.

Apparently, after years of abusing what appears to be a clueless intern, he has been broken to the point of not wanting to appear on stage with our lovely models. For some reason, this is worse than being coated in honey and attacked by pigeons.

I’m sorry that after much hyping to our beloved artists that I now make this announcement at such a late hour. What I am relieved about, however, is that I needn’t worry about the possibility of a young man from the MTV demographic possibly disrupting and embarrassing himself {and our models} on our hallowed stage.

What we are promising, is a great night brought to you by Pandora La Glamme and Dolores Del Fuego, as well as our rope master, Mr. Robichaud. That I know we can deliver.

see you soon.

MTV Live visits The Keyhole Sessions this Tuesday

by The Madame

During the height of whatever it was that we usually call Summer, TKS was approached by MTV Live to come tape a Session in our studio. Having long since left the demographic that normally suits MTV, I was a bit skeptical.

Many questions, answers, and assurances later, and we have a scheduled date with the MTV Live camera crew and “Paul the Intern” {who, after watching a few clips on the MTV website, reminds me of Mel, the crazy fan from Flight of the Conchords}.

Gracing our stage on their own for this Session’s first act will be Pandora La Glamme and Dolores Del Fuego. The second act will introduce JP’s lovely rope work, and what will probably be a very curious, yet very nude, intern.

We don’t really know what to expect from this Session. I’m assuming it will be a bit more casual and relaxed, and I expect our models and artists to be their usual amazing selves. We’ll make sure that everyone involved feels welcome, and it may help if you bring an extra sense of humour.

See you on the 29th. It should be interesting…

Nuit Blanche Special Event: Girls.Grease.Rope.

The time is almost upon us. On October 3rd, art lovers will descend on the downtown streets of Toronto for Nuit Blanche, the “free, all-night contemporary art thing”. From sundown to sunup, experience a nightlife filled with art exhibits, installations, music, and thousands of people looking for an art fix.

As a tribute to this dark fête, The Keyhole Sessions is holding a special late-night drawing session. From 8pm til 2am, come draw eight of our Keyhole models, as they grace the stage in greasy garage chic. Inspired by a Suicide Girls/Fight Club photoshoot and accentuated by our amazing Shibari rope-riggers, it will be a night of drawing you won’t forget.

We will be supplying basic paper and pencils. Come draw for a few minutes or a few hours; you’ll be able to step in and out as you please.

We’ll be in a street level studio at Lower Ossington Theatre, 100 Ossington Avenue. This is in Zone C of the Nuit Blanche map. You’ll know us by the motorbike in the window, atop which will be a lovely tied model or two.

See you soon!

The morning after the night before: Loxy & Croque 22|09|09

The Keyhole Sessions was introduced to a new studio at LOT this past Tuesday, and although the early phase does not carry the same ambience as our upstairs Studio, we expect the finished room eventually will. We’ll be in this space for next week’s MTV Live Session, as well as our special Nuit Blanche Event.

The first act of our Session saw Loxy Bagel play saucy librarian with a lovely pair of glasses and idle hands. Our second act was the debut of Loxy’s male counterpart, Croque Monsieur. Wayward sailor to Loxy’s enthusiastic mermaid, the poses got quite… intimate. JP lovingly trussed up Loxy’s legs in a green, sequined-trim tail, accented by a deep green chest harness.

Oh, and sorry — my camera decided not to record any of the beautiful shots I took. So we’ll be relying on vivid recall and any drawings that come our way. ;)

Thanks to all that came out!

Curvalicious Ava Noir, by Sharlena Wood

Curvalicious Ava Noir, by Sharlena Wood

Lovely Burlesque performer, Ava Noir, debuted on our stage last night, and although it was her first time, she clearly impressed. Initially teasing us with pink feather fans, she revealed a delightfully curvy figure in beautiful corsetry.

Our second half introduced JP’s handiwork in red rope, and Ava Noir and I got to know each other a bit more intimately.

We had an amazingly full class of regular artists, plus a bunch of new faces, all very nice to see. And as an added bonus, Keyhole artist Mark Chong donated his sketch pad {I love getting handed an artist’s work}.

We did notice that with a fuller room, horizontal positions on our stage aren’t as easy to draw. We’ll keep that in mind. But I was very pleased to see that our artists are comfortable enough to get up and move around. I, myself, find it easier to draw leaning against the back wall.

Photos and Playlist from last night’s Session in the post below, and if anyone has drawings they’d like to present, please forward them our way.
