DirtyWork: Submission Guidelines
The Keyhole Sessions is pleased to present DirtyWork, the second TKS gallery show highlighting art created from all our drawing and photography Sessions. This is an excellent and economical way to display your amazing work. Held at The Gladstone ArtBar from July 18th to the 24th, it’s prime location in the Queen West Arts District means your work has the potential to reach thousands of people on one of the most popular Gallery stretches in the city.
Guidelines for submitting your work are as follows:
DirtyWork is a curated show and its primary focus is to display finished work, framed or on canvas. Remember, you needn’t be a seasoned artiste to submit; a passion for creativity is the most we ask for.
All you have to do is send us an email with lo-resoultion scans or photos of the pieces you’d like us to consider. After June 25th, we will contact all artists to let them know which ones we have selected. You can then prepare those pieces for hanging and delivery to the Gladstone on July 17th.
Main Walls:
$50 per artist {not per piece}.
Submit 1 or submit 5, the costs remains the same. Payable by PayPal {below} by June 25; or with cash at our June drawing Session {June 12th}. Submissions will only be considered after payment has been received, just so we know you’re serious! There are 2 main walls in the ArtBar for these specific pieces.
Sketch Wall:
A small section in the Gallery where we can pin loose sheets of paper, very casually, on large boards. If you’d like your work shown on this wall, be prepared for damage; sheets are displayed in an overlapping manner. $5 submission fee for this section. Sales of these pieces will be set at $10 each. This is a great way to share some of the hundreds of drawings you’re storing. If you have submitted to the Main Wall, the Sketch Wall is free of charge.
Due to limited space, we cannot guarantee multiple selections per artist.
Deadline for submitting is JUNE 25. Please do not wait until the last minute to submit. The earlier we receive work to organize the layout of the room, the better.
Once Selected
All selected pieces MUST be delivered to the Gladstone on July 17 by NO LATER THAN 12 NOON. If it is late, we unfortunately cannot hang your work. If you absolutely need an earlier drop-off day, please contact The Madame via email.
Final pieces are to be framed with hangwires, or if on canvas, able to be hung from one point. If there are no wires, we cannot hang your piece!
Exhibition hours are between 12 and 8pm {except on final day, which are 12 to 5pm}. Artists are welcome {and it is suggested} to be present during some of the exhibition hours. Get yourself known; meet patrons! The Gladstone welcomes artists to sit in the gallery, on their couches, enjoying sunlight and free wi-fi.
Opening night party to be held on Friday, July 2oth, 7 to 10 pm. TKS recommends artists with selected pieces to be in attendance, as well as sending notices out to their respective social networks. TKS will be also publicizing this Exhibition through its various networks, including The Gladstone Event Calendar. Our first exhibition gala for SneakPeek was off the hook and a great way to mingle with other artists and patrons.
So if you’re ready, we’d love to see what you’ve got.
