Having been recently released from a mental institution, Lee Holloway {Maggie Gyllenhaal} finds herself back at home, still struggling with the day-to-day. At her mother’s insistence, she begins looking for work and lands herself in the office of lawyer E. Edward Grey {James Spader}. The power dynamic that erupts between Dominant Grey and submissive Holloway percolates into a charged, yet tender relationship, moulding into a bond that satiates each other’s latent desires.
