We welcome back art to Tuesday night with yet another artist v artist brawl at AB7. For those not in the know, Art Battle pits artists against each other in 20-minute bouts of live painting. Winners’ work to be auctioned off, losers’ to be ceremoniously destroyed.

TKS was fortunate to join forces with these brawlers for AB6, so we know it’s a good time; it’s a fun way to spend an evening with art, booze, and beats. Come say hi to the Madame as she plays assistant to the cool AB peeps. Save five bucks by sticking your name in the hat, and cross your fingers you’ll be chosen for the paint-slingin’ fray.

The Morning After The Night Before: TKS meets Art Battle 05|18|10

The only thing better than spending Tuesday evenings drawing lovely models tied up in rope is watching others paint lovely models tied up in rope. Last night we joined Art Battle for the 6th and final Battle of the season.

Our evening began with Skellington and Bella Fox presenting in-flight safety procedures and the best use of a rolly suitcase. Shortly afterwards, TKS joined the throngs of people in the Main Hall to add that extra oomph to twenty-minute paint slingin’. TKS HeadRigger JP Robichaud tied on-stage to the delight of many, with our models the subject for the final Battle. Painting on one side and an impromptu group of sketchers on the other, the battle pitted pro against amateur, with fantastic results.

The final paintings fetched the highest bids of any Art Battle to date, and although this Madame lost her own auction battle, we’re very pleased to have had a part in this amazing event. Huge thanks to Simon Plashkes and Hinto Khonesty and their amazing battle crew for inviting us, and congrats for a great night.

TKS joins the paint slingin’ – May 18

It’s ON. Our friends at Art Battle have asked us to join them across the hall for AB6. After our regularly-scheduled programming, TKS will be in attendance for a special bonus battle.

If you have not witnessed an Art Battle, this is the night to do it. Artists pitted against artists in 20-minute rounds of live painting. Winners are chosen by audience vote, and losers watch their still-wet canvases ceremoniously destroyed, all to some sweet DJ beats. TKS will be presenting two lovely models decorated in rope as the subjects for the grand finale.

So once you’re done drawing Skellington and Bella Fox, head on over across the hall, grab a drink and catch both the main battle, followed by the special TKS bonus battle. TKS peeps get a special shared-ticket price of only $15 {steal!} if they attend AB6 after TKS. Artists are of course welcome to keep their pencils out to draw the battle.

Let’s see if we can’t distract the painters too much…

May seems to be our month of Special Events, and the 18th is no exception. After our regularly-scheduled programming, TKS will join our friends across the hall for a special bonus battle.

Go: Art Battle – right after our April 27 Session

Two awesome art events in one building on the same night? How sweet is that?

Right after TKS’ Farewell to Miss S Session on April 27th, walk a few steps over to the Main Hall to catch the title match of Art Battle 5. Watch artists duke it out live on canvas. Truly a fun event. And if you’re coming in from TKS, you get in for only 5 bucks. No reason to skip it now.
